Dr Brenda Macmillan – BDS, MBA, LF Hom (Dent. Surg.), PG CERTMED ED

Dr. Macmillan qualified from the University of Dundee in 1983. Having worked in General Practice for eight years, she returned to University to study for an MBA at Warwick University Business School. After qualifying, she worked in Hospital for two years in Aberdeen. After establishing Gentle Dental Care in Tilehurst, Reading, she completed a postgraduate course in Homeopathy which allows her to offer alternative, homeopathic treatments, where clinically appropriate, in the dental care of her patients. Her other interests include cosmetic dentistry and Botox and Restylane treatments to further improve dental and facial aesthetics.


Dr John Hunt – BDS DRDP (U.Lond.) PG CERTMED ED

Dr. Hunt qualified from the University of Dundee in 1983. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and, to keep ahead in the fast-changing world of modern dentistry has completed various postgraduate courses at the prestigious Eastman Dental Hospital, London, receiving a diploma in restorative dental practice (with distinction) in 2006.


Dr Rebecca Hamilton – BDS (Manc)

Rebecca qualified from the University of Manchester. She joined the practice in August 2011 and is a highly motivated, friendly and positive person. She always aims to deliver the best possible patient care whilst endeavouring to put her patients at ease and make people smile.

Dr Agis Patsourakos

Dr Agis Patsourakos – DipDent (Athens) MSc (Stockholm)

Dr Patsourakos is an associate dentist with a special interest in dental implants, minor dental surgery, and digital dentistry. He qualified from the Dental School of Athens, Greece in 1984 and finished his postgraduate Diploma (M.Sc.) in Prosthodontics and Implantology at the Dental School of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden in 1986. He then worked in his private practice in Athens for more than twenty years focusing on cosmetic and implant dentistry. At the same time, from 1999 until 2011, he served as senior Prosthodontist and Implantologist in Eurodentica, a major dental practice in Athens. In 2011 he relocated to the UK to join a practice in Norwich before moving to Oxford in 2013. He joined Gentle Dental Care in 2019 as an Implantologist.

Apart from being an experienced Implantologist with hundreds of successful implants placed, Dr Patsourakos also has an extensive clinical knowledge in all other aspects of general dentistry and in treating complicated and demanding restorative cases combined with a pain-free approach towards his patients. He follows closely the latest developments in his scientific field and over the last couple of years he has been focusing on digital dentistry and the use of intraoral scanners to provide his patients with more comfort and accuracy in their dental work.

He has worked with all major implant systems both in placing and restoring and he has also been trained extensively in the use of computer-guided implantology. Over the years, he has published several articles in a number of dental journals on different aspects of implants and dental materials. His latest contribution to a scientific presentation, in collaboration with a number of fellow dentists, on gum problems around implants, (Prevalence of peri-implantitis in long term follow-up of 397 patients with 841 implants) will be presented in the European Association of Osseointegration Congress 2020 in Berlin.

Dr Patsourakos is a member of: British Dental Association, European Association of Osseointegration, Digital Dental Academy, Prosthodontic Society of Greece, Greek Society of Osseointegrated Oral Implants and Biomaterials, Greek Dental Society for Disabled Persons, Greek Society of Modern Dentistry. In his current post, he trained the staff of the practice in understanding and promoting dental implants and also specifically the dental nurses in their role in assisting the surgical procedures of implants.

In his free time, he loves taking care of his garden, walking his dog, playing tennis, sailing, and skiing.

Dr Douglas MacMillan

Dr Douglas MacMillan – BDS (BIRM)

Douglas is an Invisalign accredited general dentist who aims to achieve brighter, straighter and more beautiful smiles for his patients, to enable them to smile with confidence. He is experienced in a range of cosmetic dental treatments including teeth whitening, teeth straightening, porcelain veneers and composite bonding. He is currently studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry, to further his development as a cosmetic dentist. If this wasn’t enough, he has also incorporated digital technology into his work flow to take the quality of his dental treatments to the next level.

In his spare time Douglas can be found cycling or out on the golf course with friends.

Dr Carmen Pop

Dr Carmen Pop – DMD

Since graduating in 2003 Dr Carmen Pop has become well established in the dental industry, developing a keen interest in aesthetic and cosmetic restorative dentistry. She is a member of General Dental Council, British Dental Association and a Platinum member of the International Academy of Advanced Facial Aesthetics. She is committed to deepening and broadening her knowledge, skills, and love of dentistry and she has completed a great number of advanced courses in aesthetic and restorative dentistry. She has also completed master classes in facial aesthetics.

Dr Carmen Pop has a special interest in orthodontic treatment; she is a qualified provider for Invisalign and Inman orthodontic aligners. From 2019 she is continuing her education with a Diploma in Clear Aligners at the City of London Dental School. Dr Pop is an accredited trainer for Invisalign orthodontic method as well as a Clinical Advisor for Aligner Consulting teaching other dentists how to plan and get the best outcomes of their treatments. She is also an Elite Invisalign provider, enabling her to provide full arch orthodontic treatments and has undertaken several Smile Makeover courses to help her achieve the gold standard smiles for her patients.

Dr Carmen Pop is comfortable providing a wide spectrum of high-quality dentistry for all age groups. Most importantly, she believes that taking the time to understand each patient’s needs and motivations is critical to creating the bespoke smile that they have always wanted. She works to build a strong, trusting relationship with each patient and aims to restore teeth to achieve a natural look using modern minimally invasive techniques and evidence-based dentistry. She creates a calm and comfortable environment conducive to helping anxious patients overcome their fears.

Outside of work, she enjoys sports, travelling, dancing, and spending time with her family… not necessarily in this order.

Dr Raffaele Cedrola

Dr Raffaele Cedrola – BDS (Hons) (Birm) MFDS (RCS, Ed)

Dr Cedrola Graduated from the University of Birmingham with Honours in 2018; during which time he was nominated for multiple clinical and academic awards. He joined the Gentle Dental family after having recently completed a role at Luton & Dunstable Hospital as a Senior House Officer (SHO) in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.During his core training at Luton and Dunstable Hospital he gained extensive experience carrying out complex surgical procedures, managing medically compromised patients, treatment of acute facial trauma in A+E and involvement in the management of major head and neck trauma and cancer cases.

Dr Cedrola is committed to continually developing and regularly attends courses to keep up to date with new materials and techniques. In addition, he is currently undertaking a Diploma in Restorative & Aesthetic Dentistry in order to offer a more wide range of complex and cosmetic procedures to provide the best care possible for his patients. He strongly believes in the idea that prevention is better than the cure, and focus on the practice of minimally invasive dentistry to provide healthy, beautiful smiles.

Dr Cedrola completed exams to become a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

Dr Cedrola says “I value working with all members of the dental team to provide a patient-centred approach to care, ensuring every patient across all ages has an enjoyable and comfortable experience when they visit.”

Outside dentistry Dr Cedrola is a keen fan of American football, supporting the Arizona Cardinals. He also keeps active through bouldering, yoga and try’s to go snowboarding whenever possible.

Dr Raffaele Cedrola

Dr Rajan Prabhakar – BSc (QMUL), BDS (KCL), MJDF, RCS (Eng), MSc Aesthetic and Restorative with Merit (Manchester), PgDip Endodontics, Dental Trainer East of England Deanery

Dr Prabhakar has been an associate dentist in several practices, with long-standing positions that he’s held since qualifying. He completes, alongside colleagues, both complex restorative and endodontic treatments for our patients, helping them achieve long lasting results whilst also maintaining a core principle of minimally invasive dental procedures.

He completed his undergraduate studies at King’s College London. From there, he has gone on to complete two postgraduate qualifications, taking his dentistry to a level that he now feels confident will allow for the highest quality results for his patients. Alongside this he has trained in orthodontic treatment systems as well as facial aesthetic treatments, allowing him to offer these additional treatment options to his patients.

Dr Prabhakar particularly enjoys both complex endodontic and restorative cases. He finds it hugely rewarding to help patients maintain their own dentition for as long as possible and achieving high quality outcomes that give them pride in their smiles and confidence in their teeth. He completed several full mouth rehabilitation cases and seeing the transformations that are possible is always a highlight that he enjoys reflecting on!

As a trainer for young dentists he finds it rewarding to mentor and coach a dentist through their first year after leaving university. He also regularly helps in mentoring younger students who are interested in undertaking studies in dentistry at university, guiding them on how to ensure success through their journey.

Dr Prabhakar says “without a team of supportive staff and nurses I would find it impossible to care for my patient’s and I always endeavour to work with colleagues so the best outcomes can be seen!”

When not working he tends to spend time with family or friends. If he can’t be found relaxing and unwinding making a cocktail for them you might rarely find him playing golf, although he likes to pretend he’s still no pro, so you’ll catch him in the rough, no doubt!
